What is it like (to be)? is an immersive experience that delves into the individual’s relationship with their environment and senses through echolocation.
It questions what is familiar and unfamiliar in human existence and invites the viewer to take on a new role as a hybrid creature.
The artists
Danielius Šermukšnis & Manté Elelueta
A lithuanian duo formed at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (Photography and Media Art). What is it like (to be)? is their latest work, recently exhibited at Ars Electronica.
Danielius Šermukšnis is currently focused on the topic of contemporary surveillance and tracking and is a MA student in “Interface Cultures” at Kunstuni Linz in Austria. Mante Elelueta is an interdisciplinary artist working in photography, installation, and sound fields, also researching the unseen wonders of the microcosmos (Export Kubus, Vienna).
