The R&C Lab’
Alongside the ART&VR Gallery, a Lab’ R&C section showcases the artistic diversity of the area by inviting established artists, students, researchers and collectives to take over different spaces. This dynamic allows emerging projects to be exhibited more freely, accompanying a particular theme, hybridizing different practices and opening the door to artistic exploration. This section also aims to encourage partnerships, by inviting organisations (academic, artistic or industrial) to take over a space, a theme and/or to organise events in line with Recto VRso’s values.
the 2025 theme
Pop Chaos!
At a time when the world seems to be racing towards exemplary, predictable and explainable artificial intelligence, let’s take a look at the computer programmes that overflow, the machines that dream, the algorithms that hallucinate and lose themselves in singular creativity.
Beyond a standardised form of intelligence and framework, let’s look at the in-between spaces: what is less visible, what is hybrid, what is shifting, what is unstable, what is chaotic.
Uncertainty, lack of understanding and surprise can be frightening, but they can also open up new avenues of wonder, pleasure and awareness.
This call for exhibits is open to interactive and immersive art forms between the real and the virtual that explore this theme.

new artistic forms
Recto VRso
The Recto VRso festival explores new forms of immersive and interactive art, between the real and the virtual. The works selected must resonate with the theme and invite the exploration of emerging expressions using digital media in particular, such as: virtual, augmented or mixed reality, immersive devices, generative artificial intelligence, interactive interfaces, robotics, sound spatialisation, presence effects and so on. Hybrid and transdisciplinary approaches are particularly appreciated.
