Research & Creation
The R&C Lab’
Alongside the ART&VR Gallery, a Lab’ R&C section showcases the artistic diversity of the area by inviting established artists, students, researchers and collectives to take over different spaces.
This dynamic allows emerging projects to be exhibited more freely, accompanying a particular theme, hybridizing different practices and opening the door to artistic exploration. This section also aims to encourage partnerships, by inviting organisations (academic, artistic or industrial) to take over a space, a theme and/or to organise events in line with Recto VRso’s values.

UNIVERSITY Partner
As part of its ARTEC and Arts & Technologies de l’Image Masters programs, Université Paris 8 organizes the annual visit of some thirty students to the Research & Creation Lab at the Recto VRso festival, in collaboration with the INREV-AIAC research laboratory. Supervised by the two professors in charge, Jean-François Jego and Sophie Daste, they will create several interactive and immersive digital works in line with the “Pop Chaos!” theme, which they will present to the public over the weekend of April 12-13, 2025.

ÉCOLE D’ART TERRITORIALE Partner
For the past 2 years, ESAD TALM’s DNSEP Design Sonore and DNSEP Design computationnel et mécatronique students have been working directly on the themes of the Recto VRso festival. These creations are produced as part of a three-course collaboration: the VR vidéo 360 option offered by Marie-Laure Cazin, the Technologies du son : audionumérique et création sonore course led by Olivier Houix, and the Nouvelles réalités course offered by Amaël Bougard.
It is through this partnership that certain projects are born within the four walls of the École, and are then selected to be exhibited in the Recto VRso Lab’ R&C.

new artistic forms
Recto VRso
The Recto VRso festival explores new forms of immersive and interactive art, between the real and the virtual. The works selected must resonate with the theme and invite the exploration of emerging expressions using digital media in particular, such as: virtual, augmented or mixed reality, immersive devices, generative artificial intelligence, interactive interfaces, robotics, sound spatialisation, presence effects and so on. Hybrid and transdisciplinary approaches are particularly appreciated.
