About the Project
I was here
This project explores the memory of space and the quiet traces left by those who pass through it. In everyday public settings—from subway stations and public squares to local cafés—graffiti and fleeting inscriptions bear witness to transient lives, weaving an invisible tapestry of shared stories and emotions.
Through Augmented Reality, the installation brings these subtle memories to light. By aiming a smartphone at the ground, visitors uncover the messages and personal recollections left behind by others. They are then invited to write and record their own story, contributing directly to the collective memory of the site.
In doing so, the experience transforms an ordinary location into a shared archival space—a living canvas where individual traces intersect. Designed with adaptability in mind, the installation seamlessly expands across diverse environments and spatial layouts.
