The MIP “3IA : Immersive Improvisation in Interactive Arts”<\/h2>\n\n
<\/div>\n\n

The MIP “3IA: Immersive Improvisation in Interactive Arts” is a creative jam<\/strong> taking place as part of the Recto VRso international art festival and the Laval Virtual Europe exhibition, which explores the technologies of tomorrow. Being part of this environment is a source of inspiration that infuses alternative perspectives, rooted in art and aesthetics, into the applications of real-time technologies. This in turn opens up new paradigms for innovation. <\/p>\n\n

This edition brings together students and teachers from EUR ARTEC and the ATI department at Paris 8 University.<\/strong> The week includes visits to the Festival to keep abreast of the latest trends in interactive technologies. Participants will be able to take part in all the artistic events and performances organised by Recto VRso, and attend the international conferences at Laval Virtual. The aim is to integrate the cultural heritage of the city of Laval, which has been awarded the Art & History label, with the interactive technologies presented in this jam. The students will be working with real-time 3D engines (for video games and virtual and augmented reality) and sensors\/actuators designed for immersion and interaction, with the idea of inviting festival visitors and the general public to play and improvise with the works of art or performances created by the students. <\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

The jam will allow student artists to :<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  1. To explore emerging technologies and their application<\/strong> as material for artistic expression, with the aim of bringing out new aesthetics that combine art and interactive technologies; <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The hybridisation of artistic practices and the use of technology<\/strong>, integrating interactivity and autonomy. The aim is to study the synergy between interaction, immersion and improvisation with the cultural heritage of the city of Laval;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. To encourage innovation<\/strong>, whether in the field of digital artistic creation or in the exploration and advancement of cutting-edge technologies, such as immersive and interactive technologies or intelligent objects with sophisticated forms and behaviours;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Experience a residency-exhibition<\/strong> structured around an intensive week. The participants, who come from a variety of backgrounds, will discover how they complement each other and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration in the fields of art and technology, within a framework of research and creation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
    <\/div>\n\n

    This year, 34 participants<\/strong> will be occupying the various spaces at Le 40 de Laval to create works from Monday 8 to Friday 12 April, before presenting them to the public over the weekend of 13 and 14 April.<\/p>\n\n
