The initial idea was not to create a conventional museum, but rather a space that would activate the viewer – experimental, playful, interactive, immersive, evolving – close to the sensation experienced in a real exhibition, where the visitor passes through different emotional chambers. Calm and contemplation with geometric paintings, surprise and wonder with works of light, agitation and excitement in the playrooms, reflection and introspection with Modulations or Alchemies. If you’ve played the game, you’ll leave the exhibition exhausted, sweaty and happy, with the feeling that you’ve had an intense physical, emotional and cognitive experience, a veritable retinal and neuronal massage. Julio conceives his works as a whole, as a series of perceptual experiences that have an impact on and are coherent with each other. It was essential to rediscover the spirit of continuous research and globality that was so important to Julio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julio Le Parc<\/strong> (born in 1928 in Mendoza, Argentina, lives and works in Cachan) is one of the most important geometric and kinetic artists of the 1960s. A founding member of GRAV (Groupe de recherche d’art visuel) created in Paris in 1960, he has been working for over fifty years on movement, light, optics and the relationship between a work of art and its viewer. In 1966, he was awarded the International Grand Prize for Painting at the Venice Biennale. He has exhibited at the Maison des Am\u00e9riques in Cuba, the Miro Foundation in Barcelona, the National Institute of Art in Rome, the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, the Daros Latinamerica in Rio de Janeiro, the Whitney Museum in New York, the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, the MOCA in Los Angeles, the Centre Pompidou-Metz and, in 2013, the Palais de Tokyo.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Juan Le Parc<\/strong> (born in Paris in 1960) has been working for several years on ways of representing the human body, combining artistic and scientific practices in his approach. By taking anthropological body modifications and mixing them with scientific imagery, he creates plastic worlds filled with hybrid, chimerical beings from mythical imaginations. He is co-founder of the “Laboratoire des Arts Cognitifs” and of the urban intervention theatre company “Conspiration Publique”, with whom he creates strange multimedia shows about the human body and its physical and psychic modifications.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
